Luck ran out of Morocco on Wednesday night following their 0-2 loss to defending champions, France, who are on course to lift the World Cup trophy for the second time as they face Argentina in the final.

The Moroccans were perhaps overwhelmed after conceding an early goal five minutes after kick off which saw France’s Theo Hernandez who took advantage of Antione Griezman’s close range rebound shot to beat Yassine Bounou with a fine finish.
France got the upper hand of the game after Morocco failed to utilise chances they’ve created for themselves. The European country doubled the lead in the 79th minutes courtesy Randal Lolo Muani who got the rebound of Kylian Mbappé’s strike, Muani steer the ball past Bounou from six yards which rolled into the back of the net to make it two.
France are the first nation to reach back-to-back World Cup finals since Brazil in 2002, and first European country to do so since Germany in 1990.
France have reached the World Cup final for a fourth time, all since 1998 (1998, 2006, 2018, 2022). This is twice as many as any other nation in this period.
They face Argentina on Sunday for the final while Morocco take on Croatia for the third place on Saturday.
