FMBN inaugurates 100 housing units in Adamawa

The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) on Monday inaugurated 100 housing units in Adamawa State.

Speaking at the inauguration in Yola, Madu Hamman, said that the project was fully funded by FMBN to reduce the challenges faced by members in owning houses.

“Under this phase, the bank is delivering to off-takers 40 units of 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows at N8.3 million and 36 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows at N6.8 million.

“And 24 units of 1 bedroom semi-detached bungalows at 3.1 million”, he said.

Hamman said that the bank provides mortgage financing for the purchase of houses to buyers at the rate of six percent with a repayment period of over 25 years.

According to him, the estate is fully serviced with basic infrastructure including an internal road network, drainages, electricity, and water reticulated to all the houses to create a conducive and liveable environment.

He appreciated the support of the state government by providing land for the project.

In his remarks, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, appreciated the FMBN for taking up such responsibility and urged them to sustain the tempo.

Fintiri who was represented by the Head of Service, Mr Edga Emos, assured that government would continue to support such projects in the state.

He added that the state government would also do everything possible to provide road links to the housing units for easy access.

Mr Ayuba Wabba, President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), appreciated FMBN and commended the developer for the quality project, he urged others to follow suit.

Wabba pleaded with the state government to provide access roads and also provide land for the second phase of the project in the state.

Malam Ahmed Muhammadu who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the FMBN for the housing project and said it’s a priority of every civil servant to own a house.

He urged them to sustain the tempo for others to benefit from their contribution.
