Yobe head of civil service, directors, others meet to improve performance

A one-day meeting is held in Yobe State by the Head of Civil Service, Directors, and Heads of Departments to enhance workers’ performance in terms of service delivery.
The meeting took place at the local government multiple purpose Hall in Damaturu.
The State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal, said civil service is the main instrument through which government implements and administers public policies and programmes.
According to Bilal, civil servants have important duties to play in providing services, adding that the civil service could not function without their efforts in some capacity.
“The gathering is for important personalities, as Directors, Heads of Departments are the people that are responsible for treating all the vital documents of government.
“As Directors in your respective Ministries, Departments, and Head of Agencies in the various MDAs, you have a great role to play in moving the civil service forward,” said Bilal.
He stated that the development achieved in many countries of the world has been due to the ability of their civil service to effectively translate the policies of their political leaders into concrete services.
Alhaji Garba Bilal, therefore, called on the state Senior Civil Servants at the meeting to put all hands together and contributes immensely towards moving the state forward.
