Peter Obi’s lawyers arrive INEC headquarters to inspect election materials

About 60 lawyers hired by Labour Party have stormed Abuja to meet with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the inspection of the Feb. 25th presidential election materials.

The meeting with INEC officials is being held at the Commission’s national headquarters in Abuja.

The legal team was led by Dr Livy Uzoukwu, who is also expected to brief journalists after the meeting.

Following the declaration of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the President-elect by INEC, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi approached and obtained an order from the Court of Appeal to inspect election materials used by the INEC.

Recalled that Obi and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, had refused to concede defeat in the February 25 presidential election, and vowed to recover their mandate in court.
