The Yobe state government has started improving the performance of its local factories to generate more internal revenue for the state.

Muhammed M.B, the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of Yobe Sahel Aluminium Company made this known yesterday in an interview with newsmen in Potiskum.

After the familiarization visit of Yobe governor and subsequent directives to submit the proposal for upgrade of the company, he immediately approved the sum of N94 million for the upgrade exercise. He said before the arrival and intervention of the current administration, the company’s production was merely meager, below its medium capacity. “Because the only production machine we had was outdated”, Muhammed said.

He added that interns of employment, before the upgrade, the company was only accommodating a few numbers of corps members and students from the various institutions for Industrial Training (IT).

However, the number had significantly increased, which he attributed to the timely intervention of the state government.
