Inauguration of 10th House of Reps commences with roll call

The inauguration of the 10th House of Representatives is currently underway at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

The Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzariya, is currently conducting the roll call, with Members-elect having taken their seats as early as 8:30 am.

Following the roll call, the Clerk will proceed to request nominations for the position of Speaker. Once a Speaker is selected, he or she will take the oath of office, which will be administered by the Clerk.

The newly elected Speaker will then assume the Chair (Speaker’s Seat) and proceed to inaugurate the other Members-elect.

Presently, the contenders for the position of Speaker include Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the immediate past Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Wase (Plateau), Hon. Sani Jaji (Zamfara), and Hon. Miriam Onuoha (Imo).
