Borno’s State Recovery: Zulum, ministers, NEDC meet In Abuja

Maiduguri, North-East, Nigeria – Borno Governor, Professor Umara Zulum, yesterday met with the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and her counterpart in Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouk; and the MD, Northeast Development Commission, Mohammed Alkali in Abuja.

The meeting, coordinated by the finance minister, was at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari, with a focus on reviewing humanitarian and recovery needs in Borno state worse hit by the Boko haram crisis with potentials for humanitarian problems.

Permanent Secretaries including that of Special Duties, Kyari Dikwa, and other top government officials involved in humanitarian issues were in attendance.

Zulum’s Special Adviser on Coordination of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, Dr. Mairo Mandara, accompanied the Governor.

The meeting ended after which Zulum, joined Sadiya Farouk in her ministry to follow up on issues raised at the previous meeting with the finance minister.
