Police arrest suspects, investigate shooting of students by NSCDC officers
The Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, has ordered the FCT Police Command to thoroughly investigate the shooting of two students from Senior Secondary School Life Camp, Abuja, by three officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Neptune Prime reports that on Wednesday around 11:30 am, three personnel of the NSCDC shot two students during the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), the affected students are currently receiving medical care at Gwarinpa Hospital, Abuja.
To protest the shooting, some students allegedly vandalised three patrol vehicles belonging to the NSCDC after the incident.
Confirming the incident, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said the suspects have been arrested and nomalcy has been restored to the affected area, while investigation has commenced to unravel the motive behind the shooting.

Speaking to newsmen, Dr Danlami Hayyo, the Education Secretary in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, said that a committee has been established to probe the distressing incident. The community awaits a thorough investigation and seeks justice for the affected students and their families.
