In the much-anticipated bout, Joshua, 34, demonstrated his prowess by flooring UFC champion Ngannou in both the first and second rounds. The referee halted the contest as Ngannou, 37, appeared to be out cold, requiring medical attention.
Joshua asserted his dominance, stating, “I’m going back to my cage and when they let me out, I’ll fight again.” WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury observed from ringside as Joshua delivered a decisive victory.
The win marked Joshua’s fourth in 11 months, aligning with his ambition to recapture a world title. Promoter Eddie Hearn urged Joshua to face the winner of the upcoming Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk match.
Joshua emphasized his future plans, stating, “In five years, I won’t be fighting. Eddie Hearn and my team will shape my future.”
