Woods aims for 3 majors in 3 months despite physical challenges

Golf icon Tiger Woods remains optimistic about his ability to compete in one tournament per month throughout the year, despite facing physical challenges stemming from a 2021 car accident.

In an interview on NBC’s “Today” show, Woods expressed his ambition to participate in the next three major championships over the span of three months.

“Despite finishing last among the 60 golfers who made the cut at the Masters last month, Woods garnered significant attention from fans”. His performance, however, resulted in his highest 72-hole score in his career, finishing 16-over par at Augusta National.

Undeterred by his recent struggles, Woods eagerly anticipates competing in the PGA Championship at Valhalla in May, followed by the US Open at Pinehurst in June and the British Open at Royal Troon in Scotland in July.

Should Woods successfully compete in these tournaments, it will signify his return to all four major championships for the first time since 2019.

Woods recognises the importance of meticulous attention to his physical recovery regimen, including daily cold plunge treatments to alleviate soreness following the Masters.

In his pursuit of contention, Woods acknowledges the formidable presence of world number one Scottie Scheffler, praising Scheffler’s exceptional ball-striking prowess. Woods emphasizes Scheffler’s potential to dominate tournaments with strong putting performances and acknowledges the challenges Scheffler poses to his own aspirations.

Despite the competitive landscape, Woods remains focused on his goal of competing at the highest level in major championships.
