Police arrest 10 suspects in Lagos organ harvesting ring
The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a gruesome organ harvesting ring, leading to the arrest of 10 suspects involved in the heinous crime.
The suspects, including a woman identified as an Osun priestess, a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Islamic cleric, and a trado-medicine practitioner, were apprehended following intelligence reports from the public.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command, the leader of the gang, a 33-year-old man named Ademola Akinlosotu, confessed to the ghastly operation. Initially involved in exhuming corpses from cemeteries and selling their parts to ritualists, Akinlosotu admitted to graduating to killing and selling human parts to customers on demand.
Akinlosotu shockingly revealed the gruesome details of their operation, stating that fresh human heads were sold for prices ranging from N45,000 to N50,000, while dried human heads fetched between N30,000 and N35,000. “Additionally, hearts were sold for N70,000, and hands for N50,000”.

The suspect confessed to his involvement in the murder of two individuals, including a friend he met through social media, before his arrest.
“He disclosed that the gang would consult a herbalist to determine the success of each killing, alleging that even a traditional ruler in Badagry solicited his services to eliminate his troublesome son”.
Hundeyin revealed that various human body parts were recovered from the suspects, signaling the depth of their depravity. As investigations continue, the suspects will be charged to court to face the full consequences of their barbaric actions.
