Mob in Adamawa burns man to death over suspicion of stealing motorcycle

Irate youths have burnt a man alive for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Adamawa State.

Sahara Reporters learnt that the incident happened on Thursday at Ngurore market in the Yola-South Local Government Area of the state.

The mob reportedly poured Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also called petrol, and set fire to the victim, after he was alleged to have stolen a motorcycle.

An eyewitness said, “I guess the angry mob resorted to jungle justice as deterrent measure because of the frequent theft of vehicles in this area.

“It was horrible to watch a fellow human being burn to death,” the eyewitness narrated.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident saying, “Yes, a man suspected to have stolen a motorcycle was burnt to death at Ngurore. But we don’t know his identity as of now.”
