Terrorists torch homes, shops in Adamawa communities

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have launched an attack on Mubang and Zah communities in Garha District of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

A resident of the area, Mr. Mbursa John, who spoke with LEADERSHIP via telephone, confirmed that several houses and shops were set ablaze during the attack.

John said he could not ascertain the number of casualties but noted that many residents have fled the communities, seeking safety by boarding buses to escape further violence.

Attempts to obtain comments from security agencies were unsuccessful. Similarly, the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Mr. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, could not be reached, as he did not respond to phone calls or text messages sent to him.
