Former INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega’s mother dies at 90
Hajiya Hauwa Jega, the mother of former INEC Chairman and ex-Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Professor Muhammad Attahiru Jega, has passed away.
She died in Abuja on Friday after a brief illness, as confirmed by reliable sources on Saturday.
Hajiya Hauwa Jega was reported to be in her mid-90s at the time of her passing.
Her funeral prayer is scheduled for today, Saturday, at 1:30 pm at the National Mosque in Abuja. She will be buried following the prayer.

Professor Attahiru Jega, who led the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and served as Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, is mourning the loss of his mother.
The Jega family has been receiving condolences from various quarters as they prepare to lay Hajiya Hauwa to rest.
