Kogi vigilante arrests 2 suspected kidnappers
The Kogi State Vigilante Service has arrested two suspected kidnappers in the Dekina Local Government Area on October 21, 2024.
The suspects, identified as Umoru Garuba and Salifu Ademu, were caught in the Ibobo area of Abocho around 2 PM, thanks to the alertness of local villagers.

Upon noticing the suspicious behavior of the suspects, residents quickly raised the alarm, allowing the vigilant patrol team to respond immediately.
The swift action of the Kogi Vigilante Service resulted in the successful detention of the individuals, who later confessed to their involvement in the crime.
After their arrest, the suspects were transferred to the Quick Response Unit (QRU) in Anyigba for a thorough investigation and prosecution.
S.O Saka, spokesperson for the vigilante service, confirmed the arrests on Tuesday, assuring the community that authorities are diligently investigating the case to ensure justice is served and to bolster safety within the area.
“Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” Saka stated, emphasising the commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
