Gov. Zulum donates vehicles, motorcycles to army

The Borno State Government has donated five operational vehicles and 15 motorcycles to the Nigerian Army to enhance security operations in the Dikwa Local Government Area of the state.

The donation, made on Monday, underscores the state’s commitment to combatting insurgency and restoring peace.

Governor Babagana Zulum, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Umar Kadafur, handed over the items during a visit to the 24 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Dikwa.

Dr. Kadafur emphasised the significance of equipping security personnel to maintain stability in the insurgency-affected region.

Of the five vehicles, two were designated for the Civilian Joint Task Force, while three were assigned to the Nigerian Army.

Governor Zulum lauded the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ezekiel Bawa Barkins, for the military’s role in facilitating the resettlement of displaced persons in Dikwa and its environs. He called on the security forces to remain vigilant and steadfast in their mission to protect lives and property.

The donation forms part of the Borno State Government’s ongoing efforts to reinforce security infrastructure and support both military and local volunteer groups in restoring peace across the state.
