Tragedy in Ondo: Truck kills 3 policemen, female suspect
A fatal road accident on Thursday in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, claimed four lives, including three police officers and a female suspect. The tragic incident occurred when a truck, reportedly descending the Ore Bridge, lost control and rammed into a police vehicle.
The deceased officers were members of the Monitoring Unit of the Ondo State Police Command. They had reportedly left Akure, the state capital, to carry out an arrest in Ore before the devastating accident.
An eyewitness who narrated the incident revealed that the truck driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle while navigating the descent of the Ore Bridge. The truck collided directly with the police vehicle, killing the officers and the suspect on the spot.

Another officer who sustained serious injuries was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the tragedy in a statement. She disclosed that the command had launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
The incident has left the community in mourning, as locals expressed sadness over the untimely loss of lives. Many have called for stricter regulations on truck drivers and better enforcement of road safety measures, particularly on major routes like the Ore Bridge.
Authorities are expected to investigate not only the condition of the truck but also the actions of the driver, who remains unidentified at the time of this report.
