Beauty queen loses her crown after claiming competition ‘always fixed, every year’

Magalí Benejam, who represented Argentina at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant, has lost her crown following claims that the global beauty competition was rigged.

During a live YouTube interview with content creator King Lucho, the 30-year-old from Córdoba alleged that the results were predetermined, casting doubt on the integrity of the event.

“When they announced the Top 5, the judges exchanged strange glances,” Benejam remarked. “It felt like the selections were not their own. That’s when I realised it was fixed—always fixed, every year.”

Benejam, who finished 12th, criticised the eventual winner, Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig, and fellow competitor Miss Puerto Rico, Jennifer Colón. She accused the Danish contestant of being overly prepared with security escorts and suggested the final results were known days before the event.

In response, the Miss Universe Organisation revoked her title on January 2, stating, “After a thorough review of her public comments, we’ve decided to withdraw her title. We remain committed to principles of diversity, inclusion, and respect.”

Benejam, who continues to list her title on her social media, has yet to respond to the decision.
