48-year-old teacher found dead inside classroom

A 48-year-old teacher, Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances within the premises of King’s College, Lagos Island, on Saturday evening.

The Lagos State Police Command received a report of the incident around 7:40 p.m. from the school’s Vice Principal, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele.

According to the Vice Principal, staff members raised an alarm after finding Akano’s body in one of the classrooms located at No. 3, Catholic Mission Street. Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives from the police command visited the scene, secured the area, and conducted a preliminary examination.

Photographs of the scene were taken, and initial observations revealed no visible injuries or signs of foul play on the deceased.

After the examination, the late Mr. Akano, a native of Oyo State, was taken to Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where a medical doctor confirmed his death upon arrival. His remains have been deposited in the hospital morgue pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
