According to the statement, the government described Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s death as a “great loss to Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large,” noting that he was actively performing his official duties shortly before the tragic incident.

The late deputy governor, aged 60, reportedly collapsed while on his way to a scheduled meeting and was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.

Governor Douye Diri extended his condolences to the deceased’s wife, Barr. (Mrs.) Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo, their children and family members, describing him as a loyal partner in governance and a committed public servant whose contributions to the development of Bayelsa will remain unforgettable.
