Bayelsa Woman Laid to Rest in Coca-Cola Bottle-Shaped Casket

A funeral ceremony in Emeyal 1 community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, drew widespread attention on Saturday, November 22, 2025, after an 85-year-old woman, Madam Afuwari Ego, popularly known as Ego Na Money, was buried in a uniquely crafted casket shaped like a Coca-Cola bottle.

The unusual casket design became a major highlight of the event, with residents and guests expressing surprise and admiration. Photographer Ogbara Walson Henry, who documented the burial, said many attendees described the casket as both striking and memorable.

Family members explained that the choice of design was intentional, noting that the late Madam Ego had a strong fondness for Coca-Cola. They said the casket served as a personalized tribute, reflecting her preferences and celebrating her life in a distinctive way.
