Governor Mai Mala Buni has rescued the family of a widow who called him during his phone-in programme at Yobe Broadcasting Corporation (YBC), to complain about her horrible situation of catering for the needs of her 2 unemployed children whom she single-handedly sponsored to accomplish their diploma programmes.
Governor Buni who was at the YBC as part of activities marking his one year in office was touched by her complain and had promised the woman of coming to the aid of her two young children particularly giving them job that will not only make them self-reliant but also give them the opportunity to look after their aged mother.
In fulfillment of his promise, the widow was invited by the Yobe State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Garba Iliya where the two children were profiled ahead of their possible engagement.
The children have lost their father some years back forcing the mother to shoulder all their responsibilities including that of their education.
Governor Buni is taking advantage of the phone-in programme to listen to the complains of his people and provide solutions to them. Through the phone-in programme, a community at the outskirt of the State capital has gotten electricity after someone from the village made a similar complain to the governor during one of the programmes.
