A 14-year-old JSS 1 student of Higher Islamic School Nguru, Hauwa of Nayi-Nawa area of Nguru town, Yobe State is carrying a four months pregnancy allegedly done by her neighbour, who is an Islamic medicine seller.
According to Hauwa’s narration, the 40-year-old Islamic Medicine seller had a sexual affair with her four times and gave her N2,500 in instalments.
When Hauwa discovered that she is pregnant, she approached another 60-year-old Muslim Scholar who is residing at Bulabulin area of Nguru for spiritual abortion.
But after the scholar demanded some amount of money from her to abort the pregnancy which she couldn’t provide, then the scholar allegedly slept with her in exchange for the money.
The 40-year-old Islamic medicine seller has denied sleeping with the girl despite overwhelming pieces of evidence and has taken Hauwa’s family to court for defamation of character.
But the 60-year-old Muslim scholar has admitted sleeping with the girl when she approached him for abortion.
The case has not been reported to any Police Station and there is a likelihood that Hauwa may not get justice because of her poor background.
