Boko Haram strikes, kills negotiator for the Nigerian Army

Unconfirmed reports have it that Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents have killed the leader of the Borno State hunters, Abdulkareem Umar, also known as Baba Magiwa.

The 69-year-old leader was held hostage in July during a failed negotiation by Boko haram commander, Modu Sulum.

It was reported that Baba Magiwa has initiated talks with the dreaded Boko Haram Commander which had reached a certain level of understanding between the two parties.

According to a source, Modu Sulum had promised to lay down his arms along with hundreds of his fighters and accept meaningful reintegration.

However, things took a drastic turn, and Baba Magiwa was held hostage during one of their meetings.

It was confirmed that Baba Magiwa was killed under the direct orders of Modu Sulum.
