Cristiano Ronaldo is now the highest official goalscorer in football history, according to Marca. The Portuguese sensation achieved the feat after the brace against Inter Milan in the Copa Italia semi-final last night.

Ronaldo has scored 763 goals in his career and broke the record of late Josef Bican’s and Brazilian legend Pele’s 762. The Portuguese sensation broke the record in the 35th-minute goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut in 2002 for Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese has scored 5 in his 31 appearances for them. He then moved to Manchester United in 2003. In 292 appearances for Red Devils, he has scored 118 goals. In 2009 he moved to Real Madrid and spent 9 years in Spain. There he scored 450 goals in his 438 appearances. For Juventus, he has already scored 88 goals in his 112 appearances.

The 5 times Ballon D’or winner is equally good for his national team. He has scored 102 goals for his national team in his 170 appearances.

Some sources claimed that Bican had scored 805 goals and Pele has scored much more than that. But Marca has only counted all the goals in the professional or similar category.

Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly the best scorer of this generation. Only Lionel Messi is close to him with 720 goals and now 5th in the list. He is two years younger than Cristiano Ronaldo and still is at the top of his form. He has a great chance to break the records and become the top scorer of history as well.

The Portuguese will turn 36 on Friday and still in an excellent form breaking records continuously. He is confident to play for some more years.
