Air Peace management has announced that it will launch regular commercial flights to Gombe from Abuja and resume its Yola flight services.

The airline’s Director of Operations, Ms Oluwatoyin Olajide, revealed this in a statement in Lagos on Sunday.

Olajide said the decision to start the Abuja-Gombe route reflected Air Peace’s determination to open up the northeast as the region is currently underserved.

“This is part of our effort to strategically expand routes and our determination to provide key connections, meeting the air transport needs of Nigerians while fostering economic development and unity.

“We are ready to launch Gombe operations and resume our Yola flight services very soon,” she said.

According to Olajide, the airline has already set up the Gombe station and is calling on residents of the state to apply to the airline as there are roles to be fulfilled at the station.

Regarding aircraft maintenance, she said: “We have 17 planes undergoing different levels of maintenance overseas and once they start coming back, we will launch more routes and resume others that we have temporarily suspended.

She added that the two new E195-E2 jets with a capacity of 124 seats (of the 13 on order) recently received from Embraer would soon be deployed to strengthen connectivity for domestic and regional flights.
