Twenty-two (22) students and staff members of Greenfield University, a private tertiary institution in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, have been unaccounted for since terrorists attacked the campus located along Kaduna-Abuja road on Tuesday night.
Sources confirmed that the gunmen stormed the university last night and started shooting sporadically, before taking some of the students away.
The locals said that the university with about forty students population does not have enough security on the ground, despite being located in one of the epicentres of kidnapping, a situation which they believe made it easier for the bandits to gain easy access into the institution.

Confirming the attack, the Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige told newsmen on Wednesday in Kaduna, that some students were abducted and one school guard was killed in the incident.
He further revealed that security operatives have been deployed to the general area for search and rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the Senator who represented the Kaduna Central during the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani confirmed the incident on his verified Twitter handle.
“The fresh report that Bandits have attacked and kidnapped many students at the Greenfield University along Kaduna-Abuja road is yet another tragedy.
“Proprietors of schools within this axis need to read the signs. Even most of us have abandoned our farms to the care of God,” he said.
