Story from Najib SANI, Bauchi
A political group ‘Greater Nigeria Project’ has lauded the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for organising and hosting series of dinners for the citizens of the state during the fasting month of Ramadan.
The group made the commendation, Friday, in a press release issued to journalists by its leader Shehu Jarawa where he said that the daily dinners hosted by the governor at government house to different groups indicated that he has compassion for his citizens.
According to him, such dinners were unprecedented in the state where a governor eats with the citizens through out the fasting period at government house.
“This year’s holy month of Ramadan was quite unprecedented in Bauchi state under the stewardship Bala.
“It is unarguably unique because the Bauchi State’s electorates are witnessing for the first time ever since the creation of the state, a sequence of Ramadan Iftars hosted by the Chief Executive.
“It begins with stakeholders from the various 20 respective local governments of the state, then the royal fathers from the three senatorial zones of the state along with their traditional title holders, followed by islamic clerics, members of the Bauchi state house of assembly, security agencies in the state, leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), civil society organisations and a host of others too numerous to mention.
“The wisdom behind these series of events cannot be overemphasised. It signifies Bala’s political will to take his government closer to his people, particularly at a time he may decide to join his colleagues in the holy land that went there to perform the lesser Hajj”. He burtressed.
He said the ‘Greater Nigeria Project’ is an initiativeu and accountability.
