COAS appoints Gen Onyema Nwachukwu as new spokesperson

The Chief of Army Staff, General Farouk Yahaya, has approved the appointment of Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu as the Director of Army Public Relations.

Nwachukwu takes over from General Mohammed Yerima, who assumed obligation as a spokesperson in February.

Until his appointment, Gen. Nwachukwu was the Acting Director of Defense Information, at the Defense Headquarters.

He was the Deputy Director of Public Relations, Headquarters Theater Command Operation Lafiya Dole, presently, Operation Hadin kai.

The new armed force spokesperson is a former student of the University of Ibadan and holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) Post-Graduate School Kaduna.

He likewise has a post-graduate confirmation in Advertising and Public Relations from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.

He is an individual from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and has attended a few military and expert courses as well as classes inside and outside the country.

Nwachukwu once served as the Media Coordinator, Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shield.

He was likewise Assistant Director Defense Information (NA), DHQ, Chief of Staff Headquarters Directorate of Army Public Relations and Public Relations Officer, NDA.
