The kidnapped Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma, has been set free by his kidnappers.
It was reported that the coach was abducted alongside two of his personal assistants on his way back from a Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) game against Adamawa United on Monday.

On Friday, 18 June 2021, the club’s General Manager, Okey Kpalukwu took to the team’s WhatsApp platform to announce that Eguma has regained freedom.
“We are grateful to God for His mercy. Our Technical Manager, Stanley Eguma, has been released by his abductors. Our God is gracious,” he wrote.
The details of the head coach’s release from his abductors are, however, yet to be disclosed.
