Alhaji Baba Abba Aji (Matawallin Yusufari), a former running mate to Ambassador Umaru Iliya Damagun in the 2019 Governorship election on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform in Yobe State has called on the party to stop dragging his name with issues against the State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
Aji, who has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said he has nothing to do with where it was reported in some quarters that his former principal, Ambassador Damagun, has approached the court to sack governor Buni and swear him in his place.
The former running mate told Neptune Prime (italics) that he has decamped to the APC because he was impressed by the remarkable achievements and the on going massive infrastructural developments taking place in Yobe State and he is also a loyal member of the party in the state.
This is coming after Ambassador Damagun in an exclusive interview with Neptune Prime last Thursday debunked the purported media reports that he has asked the court to remove the state governor from office.

“The idea is to divert my attention and that of my party from repositioning the PDP for future success and scuttle our case in a court of competent jurisdiction in Damaturu,” the ambassador said.
According to him, his party’s Legal Adviser and members were not even aware of such moves.
Ambassador Damagun had reason to advise journalists “to be cautious of planted stories and not allow rabble-rousers to use them just because they are in a hurry to sell their papers or make a quick gain”. He said, “a conscientious journalist would first ask which court is hearing the case. Most of the reports I saw had not mentioned any court hearing the case.”
