Gov. Buni committed to prompt payment of workers’ salaries, welfare, by Yusuf Ali
The able and dynamic administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni based on its policy of continuity, consolidation and innovation is committed to the prompt payment of salaries and the general welfare of workers.
The Yobe State Government under the leadership of Governor Buni is not oblivious of the importance of a well-motivated workforce. It would go to any length to ensure there is a harmonious working relationship for maximum productivity.
It’s on record, Governor Buni, who is a leader with compassion has ordered that salary be paid by the 25th of the month and ensured that workers are not only paid their entitlements but promptly. The workers pretty well know this.
Despite the sharp fall in federal allocations due to the oil crash occasion by Covid-19, the state government has not failed in prompt payment of salary and wages of workers and other contractual obligations on works and services.
Governor Buni believes that payment of workers’ salaries is a priority as such funds are relatively impactful when pumped into the Yobe economy because it tends to touch members of the society that are embedded at various levels in the political patronage system, and this help to drive demand for goods and services in the state.
So it’s not normal for the Ministry of Finance to delay payment of workers’ salary if it’s not something that is beyond its powers like the technical problem but it has since been resolved.
The State Government will continue to work assiduously to eliminate hitches that may occur in the system so that prompt payment of workers’ salaries would be sustained.
