Farida Jalal is one controversial lady in Kannywood. According to her, she can destroy the industry, she can expose pretenders in the industry if she wants to. She said she became a millionaire within a week.
“There is nothing happening here that I don’t know, I have been here since the Shekarau era when some top government officials tried to use their position to blackmail some of us. But I put a stop to that when I embarrassed one of our leaders who has been claiming that he is holier than the Pope but in the real sense, he is as dirty as a cockroach”.

“You see Shekarau used the former Director Kano State Films and Censorship Board, Abubakar Rabbo to set up a committee to probe those of us that they believed are corrupt. When we started the sitting and it was my turn to testify, I called almost all of them by their names, similarly, I told them the day they took me to a hotel, how much they gave me and how some of them were barking in bed like dogs.
“I was married before, and later joined Kannywood, and the marriage later packed up. I opened a new chapter of my life, so there is nothing we the ladies don’t know about those in government.
“We know those who are lesbians among us, those that do Kwanan Gida with rich women, that their husband’s don’t normally satisfy them. Now the Shekarau era wants to come back again under this government, we will not tolerate that.
“In the night, you take us to bed, during day time who pretend to be a holy Imam, you know that somebody like me will not take that. I fear God so much, but I will not allow a gigolo to take me for a ride. If I want to enjoy myself nobody can stop me, if I want to be a millionaire nobody can stop me, if I want to be as clean as cotton nobody can stop me, so people like Afakala should be careful because we know them in and out, she said.
