The Court of Appeal has nullified the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing Kiru/Bebeji Constituency of Kano State, Abdulmuminu Jibrin.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Ajoke Adepoju, the entire election was faulty, saying that the final result contained in Form EC (8)E was mutilated.

Justice Adepoju, therefore, ordered for a fresh election within 90 days.

On September 12, the Kano election petition tribunal had affirmed Jibrin as the winner of his constituency election in the February 27, 2019 election.

Recall that Mr Jibrin had been at loggerheads with his party at the ward level as he was expelled by the party in the past.

Also, Mr Jibrin was reportedly sidelined in the distribution of House Committees by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, after having laboured for the speaker’s emergence.

Although Mr Jibrin had denied the sidelining rumour, sources closed to the lawmaker told Neptune Prime that as the Chairman of the Gbajabiamila’s campaign committee, Mr Jibrin had been pained by the development.

“He is only putting up acts to hide his rage over Femi’s decision. Jibrin is a goner,” the source said.
