Suspected Fulani herdsmen kill 2 farmers in Miango village, Plateau

At least no fewer than two Rigwe indigenes were killed by suspected bandits at Ancha village of Mango District, Rigwe Chiefdom of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Information made available to journalists revealed that they were ambushed and killed while working on their farmlands in the afternoon by yet to be identified men.

The National Publicity Secretary, Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Davidson Malison, who confirmed the killing of the two persons, in a statement said: “These atrocities being committed by Fulani militia has had a gross negative effect on our people and it must be stopped.”

He said the incident had been reported to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Council Area while the remains of the victims had been evacuated to the morgue.

It was learnt that the names of those killed were, Daniel James, 32, and Zakwe Deba, 35-year-old.

The Plateau Police Spokesman, ASP Ubah Ogaba, who also confirmed the incident, said an investigation is ongoing.
