After 106 days in Boko Haram’s captivity, freed Shehu Mailalle expresses gratitude to Yobe Governor, others

Yobe State Liaison Officer in Borno State, Shehu Ali Mai Lalle, who recently regained freedom after spending 106 days in Boko Haram’s captivity, has expressed gratitude to God almighty, the Yobe State Governor, and leadership and members of Yobe State Assembly for their support for him during his travail which eventually saw him to freedom.
Mai Lalle bared his mind concerning his benefactors on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Neptune Prime Malam Hassan Gimba in his office in Abuja.
He said, “My sincere appreciation goes, first to God almighty, and then to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, the Speaker and members of Yobe State House of Assembly, Our royal fathers, the Emirs’ and Chiefs of Yobe and Borno States, Special Advisers and Assistants to Governor Buni, Imams of all Mosques in both states, the good people of Yobe State and Nigerians in general whose unflinching support and prayers made my release possible.”
On Jul 24, 2021, the dreaded insurgents kidnapped Shehu, one of his closest friends named Mustapha and two Nigerian soldiers along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road.
Mai Lalle and Mustapha reportedly regained their freedom on Thursday evening being November 11 close to four months and they have since been reunited with their families as the two soldiers were said to have been killed by the insurgents.
