Sokoto State Gov’t close to Bello Turji, prominent Muslim cleric alleges

A prominent cleric and opinion leader from Sokoto State, Sheikh Murtala Bello has exposed the alleged relationship between Sokoto State government officials, and the ruthless bandit, Bello Turji, who has been operating in Zamfara, Katsina and Sokoto axis for quite some time, killing hundreds of innocent people.
He submitted, via video, that the President should be blamed for his lukewarm attitude towards what is happening in the North, to make it clear, he alleged that Sokoto State Government, especially the governor and his associates, are in constant touch with Turji and his men.

During the last general election, Turji and his men insisted that their should be no election in Sabon Birnin because the contestant, Honourable Bargaja was not in their good book. Kano State Government, through the office of the Governor according to him, sent millions of Naira to Turji and his men, but the person that took the money to Turji did not deliver the money intact, therefore, when INEC officials went for the elections, Turji kidnapped them. Sokoto State Government had to send millions of naira for the election to hold.
Alleging further that recently, when men of the Army arrested the middleman between the state government and Bello Turji, the agent jumped into the house of one Traditional ruler who attempted to rescue him but the Army insisted on taking him to save Sokoto State Government and the Sultanate Council from embarrassment from a committee which was set up under the leadership of the Sultan so that the Emirs and role being played by thr Emirate and Sokoto State Government House will be covered.
At the time of filing this report, Sheikh Murtala Bello lamented that Bello Turji is not invisible, he is just a deadly criminal that is receiving cover from the Tambuwal Administration and even the Sultan and that there is always direct contact between the Governor and Turji.
