AAUN founder urges people of Gwarzo to forgive, support Kano deputy gov-elect

The founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria and Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has appealed to the good people of Gwarzo local government area of Kano State to forgive their son, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, the Deputy Governor-elect if he has wronged them in any way.

Similarly, he asked the Deputy Governor-elect to forgive those who might have offended him.

Prof. Gwarzo, who doubles as the founder of Franco-British International University, Kaduna, and the proposed Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja, made the appeal on Saturday, 29th April 2023, during a dinner organised by Gwarzo Consultative Forum (GCF) in honor of Comrade Abdulsalam, News Point Nigeria reports.

“I sincerely appeal to anybody in Gwarzo, who might have been wronged or offended either knowingly or unknowingly by Comrade Abdulsalam, to please find in his heart a place to forgive him as Comrade has also forgiven all those who offended him,” Prof. Gwarzo said.

While noting that no society progresses politically, economically, or socially if it lacks the spirit of forgiveness, Prof. Gwarzo stressed the need for people to always forgive one another for the promotion of unity and peaceful coexistence.

He quoted a French writer who says; “Any society that is unforgiven, that society is in serious trouble”,

He, therefore, reiterated the importance of forgiveness amongst people adding that Comrade Abdulsalam is a man of integrity who has already forgiven everyone that offended him.

He reminded elites and other people about the need to put the interest of Gwarzo above their personal interest because according to him the interest of Gwazo is above anybody’s interest.

Prof. Gwarzo lauded the leadership of GCF, friends, and family as well as well-wishers of comrade Abdulsalam for attending the dinner organised in honor of the deputy governor-elect.

“Today is a memorable and historic one, as it’s the day we are felicitating with our brother, father, and friend, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, on their victory in the March 28th governorship election,” Prof. Gwarzo said.

He described the emergence of Comrade Abdulsalam as the deputy governor-elect as a huge success to every indigene of Gwarzo local government, saying that every indigene should be proud of him and should offer him the needed support and advice to enable him to deliver well in his new office.

He used the occasion to thank the National leader of the New Nigeria People Party, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, for giving the area the deputy governor’s slot and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Comrade Abdulsalam good health and wisdom to discharge the duties of his new office effectively.
