Actor Alex Araya found dead after Tinder date with 2 women
A Chilean actor, Alex Araya, was found dead in his Airbnb vacation rental in Medellín, Colombia, after a Tinder date with two women. His naked body was discovered by a cleaner on June 7, according to Chilean news outlet La Tercera.
Araya’s family, who learned of his death through the news, have been trying to uncover the circumstances surrounding his demise.
“The night before his body was found, Araya had met two women from Tinder. Surveillance footage showed him entering the rental with them around 11:30 p.m. on June 6”. Two hours later, the women were seen leaving without him. They allegedly took his credit cards and phone, using them for various purchases, according to his brother Eduardo Araya.

Eduardo suspects that the women are part of a larger gang targeting tourists. “There are more people involved,” he said. He believes his brother was drugged with burundanga, a substance known to incapacitate victims for up to 24 hours or more. Larger doses can be lethal. Alex had no visible signs of trauma and his condition was similar to other tourists who have died in the area.
Alex Araya is the 29th tourist to die in Medellín this year.
