Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah, former Interim National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged electorates, politicians and all stakeholders in Yobe State to ensure peaceful conduct of the Local Government election slated for Saturday, February 27.
Tumsah gave the advice in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.
He emphasised the need for the electorates and all well-meaning citizens of Yobe to contribute their quota to the development and deepening of democratic culture in the state.

The APC chieftain enjoined the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission to provide a level playing ground for all the political parties contesting and participating in the elections.
He also admonished the electoral body to ensure that the state experience a peaceful, transparent, free, fair and credible election.
Similarly, Tumsah enjoined political parties to help to advance democratic values, ethics, and practices so that in years to come, democracy would be entrenched in the state.
He noted that election was the most significant ingredient in the democratic process that enables citizens and the electorate to determine who would lead them at every level of government.
Tumsah appealed to the youth in Yobe to shun all forms of violence and behaviour that would constitute a threat to the electoral process in the state.
He noted that electoral violence often affects the outcome of elections, urging critical stakeholders to play their roles in ensuring that democracy was deepened and strengthened by upholding practices and actions that promote peace and unity.
He also admonished security agencies to collaborate and share intelligent information to prevent any breach of law and order.
Tumsah commended Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and the National Caretaker Chairman of APC for his commitment towards bringing the government nearest to the grassroots.
