Apology Accepted: Viral Muslim lady receives N2.2m in donations from Muslim faithfuls
Hours after a Facebook user named Kajue Baba went live on Facebook with Sofiat Lawal, the viral Muslim lady who recently garnered attention due to her unconventional dress and recitation of the Qur’an during a street interview, she came forward to apologize to the Muslim community. In response, Muslim faithfuls generously raised donations for her.
According to Kajue Baba, the total amount received for Sofiat Olamide Taye has now reached two million, two hundred thousand naira (N2.2 million).
In addition to the donations, Sheikh Akewugbagold, a Muslim cleric from the southwest, has pledged to sponsor her on next year’s holy pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Kajue Baba mentioned that Sofiat Olamide now has the opportunity to choose between participating in this year’s lesser pilgrimage (ummah) or waiting until next year for the Hajj.
Sofiat was recently captured in new photos, accompanied by a message from Kajue Baba expressing her gratitude to the entire Muslim community for their support.
“Sofiat Olamide Taye and her family members would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for everything you have done for them,” said Kajue Baba.
