Forum condemns Kwankwaso’s claims against Atiku’s camp
A frontline pro-Atiku support group known as Atiku Forum has condemned claims made by the former Governor of kano State, Alh Rabiu Kwakwanso saying that the former governor and a factional leader of the New Nigeria People Party lacks emotional intelligence.
The group, in a press statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Saidu Bello on Tuesday, extended a word of caution to Kwankwaso, not to confuse Atiku’s silence on his grievous allegations as act of cowardice.

The statement reads: “the leadership of Atiku Forum North West Zone has noted with dismay the unfounded allegations and fabricated stories levelled against the Atiku Abubakar political camp by the leader of the Kwakwansiya group, Engr. Rabiu Kwakwanso during an interview he granted on the Hausa Service of BBC.
“In the interview, the Kwakwansiya leader dismissed report of agreement with the PDP 2023 Presidential Candidate Atiku AbubaKar and the 2023 Presidential Candidates of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi on alliance towards the 2027 President elections.
“The former Governor also went ahead to accuse the PDP of deceiving the North ahead of 2027. This statement is, to say the least, ridiculous.
“We are forced to query the former Governor’s state of mind, by asking whether his factional party would not reach out to the rest of the country were the NNPP decide to participate in 2027 elections.
“The former Governor in his usual characteristic also raised numbers of unsubstantiated claims and denied being part of any negotiations or agreements with Atiku.
“In the first instance, this claim by the former Governor is unfounded and has no basis. The Atiku Forum is aware that there was no such engagement or understanding between the Atiku camp and Engr. Rabiu Kwakwanso.
“But since former Governor Kwakkwanso in his interview confirmed it was speculation , he should have refrained from making such unsubstantiated claims.
“Former Governor Kwankwanso could have expressed his views without a mention of Atiku’s name but we are not surprised because he needed to string Atiku into his narrative in order to give it a traction, even when he knew quite well that what he said was outright falsehood.
“We would have appreciated if the former Governor of Kano had mentioned few names of the Atiku camp that were either discussing or speculating the agreement between them rather than making a sweeping statement.
“Perhaps, it would have given his claims some levels of credibility.
“The former Governor may have forgotten that forging an alliance or building a coalition towards an election is not new in politics all over the world , it is therefore uncharitable of the former Governor to attempt to make case out of non issue even if the claims were true.
“We are aware that one of the weaknesses of the former Governor is his lack of political and emotional intelligence when it comes to public speaking, it will therefore be in Kwankwaso’s interests to change his style of politics to avoid further dwindling of his political capital in the northwest more especially in Kano State.”
