Bandits kidnap 5 nursing mothers, steal 50 cows in Kano

Armed bandits attacked Yan Kwada village in the Faruruwa community of Shanono Local Government Area, Kano State, on Sunday night, abducting five nursing mothers and stealing 50 cows along with other livestock.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, stormed homes and caused panic among residents, forcing many to flee.

Alhaji Yahya Bagobiri, Chairman of the Security Committee for Faruruwa and nearby villages, confirmed the incident, expressing frustration over repeated attacks despite the presence of security forces.

He disclosed that the bandits separated babies from their mothers before taking the women away. One victim later escaped, but four remain in captivity.

Bagobiri lamented the lack of timely response from security agencies despite earlier warnings and appealed to President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to strengthen security in the area.
