From Ismail Adebayo, Birnin Kebbi — In a harrowing early-morning raid, armed bandits attacked the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The assailants killed the school’s vice-principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, shot the principal, and abducted an unspecified number of female students.

The assault, which reportedly began around 5 a.m., struck the Maga community without any resistance, according to local resident Aliyu Yakubu. The attack has plunged the town into deep fear and mourning.

“The principal was shot while trying to protect the students from being taken,” Yakubu said. “It’s a great loss for both the school and the community.”
