Bayero University Registrar, Jamilu Salim, dies after brief illness

The Registrar of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Malam Jamilu Ahmad Salim, has passed away after a brief illness, according to the university management.

In a statement issued by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Abbas, on Wednesday, the death of the former registrar was announced.

The statement expressed the University Management’s heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the University community, and the entire people of Kano State.

Salim, who had served as the University Registrar for the past four years, was described as a dedicated and hardworking member of staff who had contributed immensely to the growth and development of the institution.

“We pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul-Firdaus. Amin,” the statement added.

The funeral prayer for the deceased has been scheduled to take place at 10:00 am today, Wednesday, at the BUK Central Mosque, New Campus, Kano.
