Billionaire’s disappearance sparks outcry, wife blames authorities

The wife of Anambra-based billionaire and estate developer Benjamin Ezemma, popularly known as “BigBen,” has raised concerns over her husband’s abduction and the perceived lack of action from authorities.

Benjamin Ezemma, the Managing Director of Dubai Estate in Awka, was abducted on November 12, 2024, and has not been seen since. His wife, Mrs. Tochukwu Ezemma, has accused the state government of neglect and a “conspiracy of silence” regarding the incident.

In an emotional statement, Mrs. Ezemma said, “It’s been over two months of unimaginable torture for me and my children. Where is my husband? What happened to him? He is a major investor in this state, contributing significantly to its economy through his real estate and fashion businesses. His disappearance deserves more attention from the authorities.”

She also dismissed claims that the abduction was tied to a failed business deal, stressing that her husband’s case requires urgent attention. “This is not just a family tragedy; it’s a serious issue for the state. Who are these ‘high-profile individuals’ he met with, and why is there no progress in investigations?” she questioned.

Mrs. Ezemma called on security agencies, particularly the Department of State Services (DSS), to provide clarity. While the DSS reportedly stated that the matter is already in court, she said, “We need transparency. Who is being charged? What are the allegations? I demand answers for my children and our family.”

She urged the public to help amplify her plea, adding that the ordeal has left her family in distress. “My husband is a father to three young children. He is not just a businessman; he is a pillar of our community. I appeal to Ndi Anambra and everyone concerned to help us find him.”
