Brave bride ditches gown, escapes bandit abduction attempt
In a harrowing incident in Niger State, a bride made a daring escape from bandits who attacked her wedding convoy while en route to her matrimonial home.
The courageous bride decided to shed her wedding gown and fled several kilometers into the bush to ensure her safety.
According to a sister of the bride who declared anonymity, the incident unfolded as they were transporting the bride from a village in Paikoro LGA to Kuta, the headquarters of Shiroro LGA. The unfortunate encounter with the bandits occurred near Kaffin-Koro in Paikoro LGA.
“When we were approaching Kaffin-Koro, our convoy fell victim to an attack by bandits,” revealed the sister.
“In a split-second decision, my sister removed her wedding gown and discarded it. The bandits pursued us into the bush. Although two of the bride’s friends were briefly abducted, they fortunately managed to escape. However, due to the incident, the wedding had to be postponed.”
While the bride and groom themselves declined to comment on the terrifying event, sources close to them indicated that they were profoundly shaken by the experience.
