Rebecca’s father, Evangelist Oyedotun, from the C&S Reformed Church in Isale-High School, spoke about the shocking turn of events. He revealed that Rebecca had shown no signs of illness before suddenly collapsing around 10:30 a.m.

Before her passing, the deceased bride was set to marry Abiodun Oluwadamilare on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

According to the groom’s sister, preparations were in full swing before the tragic event occurred.

“The groom’s parents had slaughtered a cow in Ogbomoso, and being an only child, Abiodun, the groom, was excited, unaware that disaster was lurking around the corner.

Though the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Ruth Oyedotun, couldn’t speak due to grief, her father, Evangelist Oyedotun, disclosed that they rushed the bride immediately to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, hoping she would recover to complete the marriage rites.

“We quickly took her to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso. After some time, she was revived, and she appeared stable. By dawn on Saturday, her condition deteriorated, and she was confined to her bed.

“We were even required to take her to Bowen University Teaching Hospital for some tests, which we promptly did.

The groom fainted and was anxiously crying, ‘let me take her away.’

“We remained in the hospital throughout that Saturday.

According to Tori News, her health worsened until she passed away on Sunday morning.
