Buratai visits Tarkwa Bay to boost troops’ morale

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen Tukur Buratai at the weekend, visited troops of Exercise Crocodile Smile IV at the Super Camp in Tarkwa Bay, Lagos to boost their morale.

Buratai who was in Lagos for the relocation of the Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps to Epe, charged the troops to be focused and diligent so that they would be able to apply lessons learned when the need arose.

Since the launch of Crocodile Smile IV, The Nation reports that the army had embarked on various humanitarian services including free medical outreach and donation of books to rural dwellers aimed at winning the people’s trust and solidarity.

According to Buratai, it was worthy of note that the exercise was held at a time of insurgency and extremism, urging the rank and file to take advantage of the training and learn. He said:

“It is good to know that this training exercise is happening in this era of insurgency and extremism. We must continue to train, support civil authority when the situation arises we must take the exercise seriously.

“We must learn and continue to learn, if you train hard now when the time requires a real operation, it will be easy.

“I expect everyone to follow the exercise seriously. I am here to see you and I must say that 81 Division is doing well,” he said.
