Busted! Ogun police summons hotel owner for planting cameras in guest rooms

A hotel owner who secretly planted cameras inside rooms occupied by guests has been summoned by the Ogun State Police Command.

The police said it commenced an investigation into the alleged invasion of privacy of guests at the Pavillion Hotel, Ayepe, in the Odogbolu area of the state.

A few days back, some guests who visited the popular hotel in Ogun State took to social media to call out the hotel after discovering hidden cameras in their rooms.

The development followed public outcry against the hotel after an online video showed guests lamenting the discovery of closed-circuit television cameras in their rooms.

In the trending video, a guest was seen removing a camera that was planted in an air conditioner in one of the rooms.

The management of the hotel appeared to defend the action in the video.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “The owner of the hotel stays in Lagos and the Divisional Police Officer in Odogbolu has invited him. We are expecting him to come and state his reasons for doing so.”

Pavilion Hotel is said to the most widely used in the community, and also popular amongst students of the nearby Babcock University.
